Dila Gokalp received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree (2006) and Urban Regional Planning Degree (2003) from Istanbul Technical University during the double major program with High Honors. She studied Architecture in Politecnico di Milano (2005). Gokalp holds a Master of Science in Architecture Degree from Istanbul Technical University (2011) and she proceeds her Phd. thesis in Architectural Design focused on “Industrial Heritage and Adaptive Reuse”.
Following the graduation, Gokalp gained international experiences at leading architectural offices in various cities such as Barcelona, Milano and Tokyo. Gokalp has been invited as guest lecturer, critic or speaker in several institutions such as Berlin Technical University, Mies Van Der Rohe Foundation, IAPS Culture and Space Design Workshop, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Georgian Technical University, Bilgi University, Özyeğin University.
She expanded her studio works abroad and works both in London and Istanbul.

Dila Gokalp articulates today’s contemporary materials with an artisanal touch of ‘heritage’.

As an award-winning architect and founder of DGA – DILA GOKALP ARCHITECTS, she expanded her material research under a ‘couture’ product collection project. Each collection is designed by a collective of professionals with passion, who have more than 20 years of experience in the field of design, manufacturing and as well as art. Gokalp creates design objects that are simple yet sophisticated while they indulge in cultural heritage with a contemporary and artisanal interpretation.
